This Cookie Policy explains how The Olive Studio uses cookies on theolivestudio.com. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit it. Cookies allow the site to remember things about your visit — for example, that you are signed in — over time and across pages.
How we use cookies
We use a deliberately small number of cookies, all of which are strictly necessary for the Site to function. We do not use any third-party advertising, marketing or behavioural-tracking cookies.
Strictly necessary cookies
Admin session cookie — set only when an authorised administrator signs in to the password-protected admin area at
/admin. It stores a hashed session token to keep the administrator signed in across pages, is HTTP-only, secure (in production), scoped to the/adminpath, and lasts up to 8 hours by default (or 30 days if “Remember me” is selected). Public visitors to the Site do not receive this cookie.
That is the only cookie we currently set. The Site does not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or any other third-party tracking technology by default. If we add such tools in future (for example, a privacy-friendly analytics provider, or a CAPTCHA on contact forms), we will update this Policy and, where required by law, ask for your consent before any non-essential cookies are set.
Server logs
Separately from cookies, our hosting and email-delivery providers maintain technical logs containing items such as IP address, browser type, and request timing. These logs are kept for a short period for security and reliability purposes. They are not used for tracking individuals across sites.
Managing cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
See which cookies are set and delete them individually.
Block third-party cookies.
Block cookies from particular sites.
Block all cookies.
Delete all cookies when you close your browser.
Blocking the strictly-necessary admin session cookie will prevent administrators from signing in to the admin area. It does not affect public browsing of the Site.
For more information about managing cookies, see aboutcookies.org.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. We will surface material changes on the Site.
